Right now, I have tentatively planned to run my conference tournament diary beginning the afternoon of Friday, March 13. I was tempted to try to do the first rounds of the NCAAs instead. I believe I've decided to keep last year's format.
The conference tournaments provide less drama, but more fodder. From home, I can sometimes, but not always, watch 2 NCAA games at a time. Insight began showing an occasional second game on its mountain CBS station during prime time and on the weekends a couple of years ago. In addition, the analog CBS channel will sometimes show a different game than the one being played on the HD feed. Even with all three, there is always overlap such that I am maxed out at two games. This has lead to an odd tradition. I have gone to a BW3s to watch UCLA play in the Regional Semifinal, on a Thursday night, 4 times in the last 7 years, because their games are never picked up here. The Bruins are 3-1 on BW3s nights. I cannot remember anything about the game we lost to Missouri in 2002 (I had to look it up), but I distinctly remember sitting next to a guy at the bar who was rolling his own cigarettes. Good times. Huge digression.
My point is, with the conference tournaments, I can toggle between 3, 4 and sometimes 5 games at a time. I now have all four networks plus ESPN, The Deuce and The U in HD. Add to that three Fox Sports channels and the Big 10 network on the grainy analog, and you've got it going on. In addition, the conference tournaments are endless. At 11, after the big boys are done, ESPN usually fires up the Mountain West (Go Aztecs!) or the WAC.
Anyways, look for it.

If I'm not mistaken (but I usually am) one of those three UCLA wins was against my beloved Terps.
Anyway, this year I've got my money on the Bud Select over the Percocet.
Looking forward to it.
I remember that well. Earl Watson went nuts for UCLA. That game was on here, but was still a victim of the Sweet 16 double booking. It was such a blowout, CBS switched it off. You and I sat at your house and watched something else.
Actually, that was a fifth regional trip for UCLA. Cannot remember what year it was.
