Don MacLean, who as the UCLA types know was there when we were, has never been a favorite of mine. We got in a brief scuffle at a party (Phi Psi's Rage) when I was a freshman. Not sure what I was thinking, luckily there were no punches thrown. He walked around like he owned the campus for 4 years, dated ridiculous looking co eds, and was all the while a complete ass.
Now he announces most all of the UCLA games on Fox, and he is constantly getting his ass kissed for being the PAC-10's all time leading scorer. This is of course after he played in the NBA for several years.
It all makes me sick.
If I ever see Don Maclean again, I am going to get in his face and sing "American Pie" until he gets mad enough to ask me to stop. At least I can take solace in the fact that I am the most famous Alex Scutchfield on the planet.
UCLA/Cal begins in a few minutes.

Yes there was a punch thrown, at me, as I was evidently further pissing him off by talking to Ann Blunden who I beleieve was his girlfriend at the time and telling her how beautiful she was(and she really was). He missed me luckily but I think grazed Ann. One of the problems being 6'10" is you lose a bit of quickness in close hand to hand battle. I then ran and found an even more troubling situation with Hso, the crown prince of Burma. Oh college memories. GO BRUINS!
Who hasn't wanted to take a swing at Ann Blunden every now and then? I understand he and Trevor Wilson started a restaurant in Westwood (http://www.sandbagss.com/aboutus.swf)
Apparently "Spelling" is not a major at UCLA- either that or they skipped it in "Forth Grade".
I'll have to check that out. I haven't heard Trevor Wilson's name in a while. Leave it to Dave to come up with the trivia. By the way, I am assuming that anonymous in this post is Joe. Cannot think of who else it could be.

I almost got in a fight with Don MacLean at a Sigma Nu party. I told him he should try crashing the boards every so often, and he was like, "2nd in the Pac-10 in rebounding," so I said maybe you should try hitting the glass on the offensive end. That he or Trevor Wilson hooked up with any hot women shows that co-eds who wear jogging bras around campus, no matter how smart, can still suffer from low self-esteem. Geoff Karren for president!!!
